- Take your time. You may or may not be on schedule
with a job, but don't let a deadline make you careless.
Rushing will only cause further delays and added
expenses.
- Check features. Create a list of the features
you're checking for and then start to proof. Go
through the proof once, checking only for typos.
Then go through a second time and concentrate on
borders and rule alignment. Continue until you've
completed the list. This will ensure that you don't
miss any items.
- Check images. If you had Pioneer scan and place
your images, check that we did so properly. If you
scanned the images in your documents, check for
sharp focus and color accuracy.
- Look for imperfections. Circle every spot, broken
letter, and anything else that doesn't look right
to you. Better to be safe than sorry!
- Check corrections. Check to be sure all previous
corrections made on earlier proofs have been made
on the current proof.
- Instructions. Write your comments and/or OK boldly and clearly on the proof. Sign proof card
and
return
all proofs to Pioneer.
- Overall view. Take a step back to view the proof
as a whole. Does the piece look as you intended?
- Questions. If there's anything that looks incorrect,
speak now to avoid expensive corrections later on
or errors in the final piece.
- Costs. Call Pioneer if you have questions about
the associated costs for correcting any of the changes
that need to be made, and make sure you understand
what costs you're responsible for paying.
